A legacy you can see across Detroit.
Founded by Howard F. Sims, FAIA, SDG has been headquartered in Detroit since 1964. The firm's work includes some of the city's most recognizable buildings, from the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History to the Robert Millender Center and portions of Huntington Place.
That history still informs the work: listen closely, solve practically, design with purpose, and deliver spaces that support the people who use them.

Detroit Food Commons brings together a cooperatively owned grocery store, incubator kitchen, event space, offices and outdoor vendor space in the North End. SDG served as architect on the community-centered development.
